How to Remove Torque Limitation from NOx / AdBlue / Emissions Faults – Step-by-Step Guide

2026-01-21 · SOPS Logic

This procedure describes how to disable the torque reduction caused by NOx-control and AdBlue/emission faults (DPF, SCR or EGR related) on Scania vehicles with S6, S7 and S8 EMS generations by changing specific configuration parameters. The method is based on editing the SOPS/parameter set, turning off NOx control logic, and then performing spare-part programming of the EMS so the new configuration is correctly applied. This is intended strictly for off-road, testing or special applications where emission control is handled differently and legal requirements are respected by the operator.

For newer vehicles, where the calibration and emission strategies are different, there is also a solution available, but it is handled individually by support; in these cases, a ticket must be opened in the reserved customer area to get a tailored configuration.

What this procedure does

It removes the torque reduction that is triggered by NOx-control and AdBlue/emission faults by disabling related control functions in the configuration.

Step-by-step configuration change (S6, S7, S8)

  1. Launch SDP3 in Conversion Mode
Open SDP3 and switch to Conversion mode from the main menu to work with the vehicle’s configuration/SOPS data.
  2. Save the Current SOPS File
In the top-left corner, select File → Save SOPS File and save the existing SOPS configuration as a backup before making any changes.
  3. Open the SOPS File in Scania SOPS Editor
Start your Scania SOPS Editor, click Open SOPS File, and load the SOPS file exported from SDP3.
  4. Go to the SOPS Tab
Once the file is loaded, open the SOPS Tab to view and edit all parameters for the vehicle.
