One app. Two types of Scania ECU files.

Scania ECUs use two distinct file formats — and most tools only handle one.
This editor covers both, fully integrated in a single Windows application.

Type 1 — SOPS Files

What is a SOPS file?

SOPS (Scania Onboard Product Specification) are encrypted XML-based configuration files generated by SDP3. They define how each ECU behaves — throttle response, idle speed, gear shift points, lighting, alarms, speed limiters, and hundreds of other parameters.

The editor decrypts these files, exposes all parameters in a graphical interface, and re-encrypts them ready to be flashed back via SDP3. No special hardware beyond your existing VCI2/VCI3 is needed.

  • 2,000+ editable parameters in a searchable GUI
  • Modules: BCM, ICL, COO, EMS, EEC, GMS and more
  • 3 ECU generations supported
  • Full round-trip: Export → Edit → Re-encrypt → Flash via SDP3
  • Compatible with VCI2 and VCI3
Fully available now
Type 2 — Binary ECU Files

What are binary ECU files?

Binary ECU files are raw encrypted memory dumps read directly from the ECU chip. Unlike SOPS files, they contain firmware-level data: stored fault codes (DTCs), emission control parameters (SCR/AdBlue/EGR thresholds), NOx sensor calibrations, and power/torque maps.

The app reads, modifies and writes these files offline — no live OBD connection, no active SDP3 session required.

Full SDP3 Compatibility

Fits directly into your existing SDP3 workflow. Export SOPS from the truck, edit with our tool, import back via SDP3 — no disruption to your process.

  • Standard SOPS export/import flow
  • No extra hardware required
  • Compatible with VCI2 and VCI3

How It Works

A straightforward process — fits inside your existing SDP3 routine.

1
Install & Activate

Download the installer, run it on your Windows PC, generate your machine key, and activate your license on this site in seconds.

2
Export from SDP3

Use SDP3 to export the SOPS file from the vehicle as you normally would. The SOPS Editor accepts this file directly.

3
Edit Parameters

Modify parameters using the graphical table view or the advanced XML mode. Delete DTCs, control derate flags, adjust any of 2,000+ options.

4
Flash via SDP3

Save your modified SOPS and import it back into the vehicle using SDP3, exactly as you would with any standard SOPS file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Scania SOPS Editor.

SOPS files are encrypted XML-based configuration files generated by SDP3. They define the value of each ECU parameter — engine settings, body module config, gear ratios, and over 2,000 other options. You edit them in a graphical interface and flash back via SDP3.

Binary ECU files are raw encrypted memory dumps read directly from the ECU chip. They contain firmware-level data: stored fault codes (DTCs), emission control thresholds (SCR/AdBlue/EGR), NOx calibrations, and power/torque maps. These require direct binary manipulation — no SDP3 intermediate format.

This is the only tool that handles both in one application.
SOPS stands for Scania Onboard Product Specification. It is an encrypted binary configuration file embedded in Scania trucks and buses that stores all ECU parameters — from engine and transmission settings to emission control, body module configuration, and more. The SOPS Editor decrypts, edits, and re-encrypts these files, giving technicians access to over 2,000 configurable parameters without needing an active Scania dealer connection.
Yes. The Scania SOPS Editor includes a dedicated binary DTC deletion module. You can load a binary ECU file, identify stored Diagnostic Trouble Code entries, and remove them — all offline, without needing a live OBD connection or SDP3 session. The software creates an automatic backup of the original file before applying any changes.
This feature is actively under development. We are working on a module to activate and deactivate emission derate parameters (SCR, AdBlue, EGR, NOx) directly within the binary ECU files of Scania trucks manufactured from 2018 onwards. This targets vehicles and applications where such modifications are lawful — including countries without applicable emission legislation, off-road and industrial use, export vehicles, and other permitted contexts. The user is always solely responsible for ensuring their use complies with the laws of their jurisdiction. This will ship in an upcoming software update.
Yes, fully. The SOPS Editor is designed to integrate seamlessly with the standard SDP3 workflow. You export the SOPS file from the vehicle using SDP3, edit it in our desktop software, and then import the modified file back using SDP3 — exactly as you would with any SOPS file. It is compatible with both VCI2 and VCI3 interfaces.
Each license is machine-bound. When you install the software, it generates a unique hardware key tied to your PC. You enter this key during checkout on this website to activate your subscription. Weekly, monthly, and yearly plans are available publicly, with occasional private offers shared directly by link. All plans include free software updates and technical support for the duration of the active license. You can manage your license, renewals, and downloads from your account area.
The SOPS Editor supports parameters across a wide range of Scania ECU modules, including EMS (Engine Management), EEC / SCR (Exhaust Emission Control), COO (Coordinator), BCM / BCI (Body & Control Module), ICL (Instrument Cluster), GMS (Gearbox), CLS (Clutch), and more. Binary file support for DTC deletion and emission operations covers multiple ECU hardware generations including post-2018 Euro 6 layouts.
Yes — these binary ECU operations are currently in production and shipping in an upcoming update:
  • Emission Delete — full AdBlue, SCR and EGR removal from the binary
  • NOx Delete — disable NOx sensor logic and related fault code triggers
  • DPF Delete — software-level DPF/FAP removal
  • EGR Delete — EGR valve disable with no residual fault codes
  • Stage 1 Tuning — remapped power and torque maps for increased output
All operations target post-2018 Scania Euro 6 ECU binary layouts and work offline — no live OBD connection or SDP3 session required. For lawful use only. The user is solely responsible for compliance with applicable legislation in their jurisdiction.
