Cruise control variant

SOPS parameter CruiseControlVariant · seen in 15 SOPS files

What it controls

Selects which type of cruise control the coordinator runs: the conventional cruise control, the economical variant that allows a small speed drop and overspeed to save fuel, or the map-based Active Prediction that looks ahead at the road profile. The variant fitted at the factory depends on the sales specification and on the presence of the map module; changing it in the SOPS file is how a fleet activates ECC or Active Prediction on a vehicle that has the hardware but was ordered without the function. It interacts with the CCAP mode setting and with the performance modes — check both after changing the variant, and confirm the cluster menu shows the new cruise settings.

Possible values

CCseen in 8 files
Conventional cruise control holding a fixed set speed.
ActivePredictionseen in 6 files
Map-based predictive cruise control (requires the map module).
ECCseen in 1 files
Economical cruise control with a hysteresis around the set speed.

Frequently asked

Only if the vehicle has the map module and the navigation data. Without the hardware the coordinator will fall back to conventional cruise control.
